Alex Eala WTA Ranking is currently ranked world number 42 after the conclusion of Madrid Open Tennis 2026. The young Filipino star delivered one of the best results of her professional career by reaching the quarter finals and semi-finals of the some of the tournaments held during February and March on hard courts. She reached to the 4th rounds at the Indian Wells and Miami tournaments on hard courts.
After a successful run on hard courts where she reached to the semi finals stage at the Auckland open 2026 early January 2026, Alex Eala’s rank has significantly been increased and reached to the career best world number 29 after the conclusion of Indian Wells Tennis 2026. But after that she saw her ranking decline dramatically after her Miami open 4th round exit. As she is defending 370 ranking points at the Miami open for reaching to the semi final stage last year, she has to forfeit all those ranking points as she was outplayed in the 4th round. After Miami open, Alex Eala WTA ranking dropped around 40.
Alexandra Eala’s Performance On Clay Courts
After Miami open, the clay court season started. She played in 3 tournaments so far on the clay courts. She did not get past the 3rd round despite played in three events in April. She lost to Jelena Ostapenko, Leylah Fernandez and Elise Mertens in upper Austrian Linz open tennis, Stuttgart open tennis and then Madrid open tennis respectively. She is currently ranked world number 42 in the latest rankings released by women’s tennis association yesterday.
WTA Ranking Points at the Italian Open
Italian open tennis is being played from today. Alex Eala is taking on Magdalena Frech of Poland in the first round tomorrow in Rome, Italy. If Alex Eala can manage to win this match, she will then face Xinyu Wang of China. Wang is a better ranked player than Eala. After 2nd round, Eala is expected to play against world number two and the Australian open champion Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan. Its a tough draw for Eala. If Eala returns home early from Rome, her ranking will likely be around 45.
